The Alta Vista School Library would not be what it is without the support of parents. Parent volunteers run the library, and parents assist with the acquisition of library materials in a variety of ways.
The AVS Library is managed by a team of parent volunteers affectionately called the Library Fairies. Volunteers handle book acquisitions, catalog new titles, organize library materials, and work with teachers to manage circulation. If you have a few hours per week to donate to the AVS Library either at the Lower or Middle School campus, please get in touch.
Our librarians keep two Amazon wish lists of suggested new book donations:
Donations of gently used books may also find a home at the AVS Library.
Books for Birthdays
The Books for Birthdays program encourages children to invite birthday gift givers to donate a special book to the Alta Vista School Library. We'll celebrate the birthday child by inscribing his or her name inside the front cover. Please use the Amazon Wish Lists for ideas or consult the library catalog to avoid duplicate copies.
About the Alta Vista Library System
Alta Vista has two libraries, one for the Lower School, and one for the Middle School. The library catalog lists materials held in both libraries. Items with call numbers that begin with MS are located in the Middle School Library, and all other call numbers are located in the Lower School Library.
If you would like to get involved with the AVS library at either campus, or if you have ideas to share, please let us know.
